Master Bedroom

Before…click pics for larger view

This master bedroom was in pretty good shape already with neutral colors and quality furniture.

The overall feel was calm and serene, so we decided to continue the flow of the room by changing the outdated pine to an antique white finish with walnut glazing.

Accessories included were a woven bedside basket to hold night time reading materials, large basket to hold throw pillows and blankets, greenery to add to the calm earthy feel, vintage shutters w/wreath, and a throw pillow for the bench to pull in all the colors.

The bi-fold closet doors were replaced with weathered shutter style doors, complimented with beautiful vintage hardware…

 Girls Bedroom

This darling little gal loves purple and torquoise, and so we set to work on finding her just the right bedding and accessories.

Below are some pictures of the room in progress…we decided to go with a soft lavender to match the bedding that we found.

She was lucky enough to inherit her parents bedroom set, which we refinished in a beautiful antique white with walnut glazing.

We also built and finished her cottage style shutters to match. The bench seat was constructed of beadboard backing and a wooden plank.

As far as the accessories, we kept it simple and clean.

Adding glassware and flowers brings a soft touch to the room, as well as the handpainted butterflies…

The beadboard nameplate made the room all her own!

Bathroom

Before…

This bathroom was a little bland and needed a splash of color and character.

Here it is in progress…

Our client loved red, but wanted to keep it light at the same time,

so the solution was to add a high 4 ft. beadboard painted in white, and contrast it against the red.

Adding beadboard to the shelf and vintage accessories brought charm to this cozy little space…the cow-milking stool is my favorite!

Kitchen

Before…

This kitchen was already beautiful, but was just asking for a subtle accent color to bring out more character…

Black barstools were added for more seating and color contrast…

We decided to refinish the focal points above the microwave and install a beadboard wrap around the bar.

By adding bronze hardware, we were able to pull it all together to make it look complete.

These simple changes gave this kitchen a new personality and lighter feel.

The Loft

Before…

Cute little Hailee is showing us her loft…The desire for this room was to be a cozy family gathering area to read and play board games together.

Our client already owned the bookcase, armoire, and sectional.

We chose to warm up the room by painting  two of the walls in a neutral brown, and refinishing the armoire in a harvest wheat to

pull out the similar tones from the enlarged poster pictures opposite the room.

The bookcase also received a face lift with beadboard backing.

We chose a large square coffee table to accomodate fun family game nights, and finished the custom made farm frames to match the table.

The black distressed basket and vintage shutters tied in with the black rustic banister just adjacent to the loft…

…speaking of the banister, we did that too (except for the beautiful iron balisters of course!)

Living Room

Before…

This living room was originally a “catch-all” room before blossoming into its true form…

The idea for this room was to be formal yet casual at the same time…challenging? Not at all!

Our client already owned the entertainment center, and had recently purchased the love seat and chairs.

We painted the room in a soft neutral brown, and decided to keep the entertainment center white

to lighten the room and pull out the light cream in the loveseat.

We chose to go with a round coffee table in this room for two reasons:

The first was to off-set the many square lines throughout this room, and the second was to bring in the symmetry of the large clock on the wall.

We were able to keep it formal with the furniture, wall clock, floral arrangement, and bronze wall sconces. We also added a fluted trim around the window.

In order to bring in a casual feel, we created a “library” of books, and distressed the back tables.
